معرفی
Dr. Devansh Jalota is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Columbia University Data Science Institute, participating in the 8th cohort of the DSI Postdoctoral Fellows Program. His research focuses on developing data-driven and online learning algorithms to enhance market design for sustainable resource allocation, particularly in future mobility systems.
- Education: PhD in Computational and Mathematical Engineering (Stanford University), BA in Applied Mathematics & BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering (UC Berkeley)
Under the mentorship of Professor Sharon Di and Professor Adam Elmachtoub, Dr. Jalota investigates congestion pricing mechanisms with a focus on New York City. He also collaborates with researchers from the Columbia Climate School and Earth Institute to develop innovative solutions for informal transport systems prevalent in many countries. His work bridges computational methods with real-world applications in sustainable transportation and urban planning.
Research Interests
- Designing data-driven market mechanisms
- Online learning for dynamic resource allocation
- Algorithmic approaches to congestion management
- Formalizing informal transport systems
Collaborations: Engages with interdisciplinary teams across the Data Science Institute, Climate School, and Earth Institute to address complex mobility challenges.
