Dr. Savannah Thais is an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University's Data Science Institute (DSI), specializing in machine learning and its societal implications. She holds affiliations with the Data, Media and Society Initiative, Foundations of Data Science Program, Computational Social Science Committee, and Smart Cities Initiative. Her research bridges high-energy physics methodologies with AI ethics, focusing on measurement design principles like uncertainty quantification and experimental blinding.
