Dev Jani is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. His research focuses on health security, operationalizing science at the intersection of public health, public safety, and medicine.
He holds a PhD and MPH from Tulane University and BS in Biochemistry from Stony Brook University.
Research expertise includes exposure science, environmental epidemiology, and atmospheric dispersion modeling. Publications validate plume models for epidemiologic applications and analyze public health integration into public safety systems post-disaster.

Dr. Jani serves as Chief of Staff for DHS Office of Health Security. Previous roles include Deputy Director of Homeland Security for New Orleans and positions in fire/EMS services. Courses taught: ENHS 6910 Environmental Aspects of Disasters and ENHS 6930 Disaster Management Planning.
