معرفی
Detlef Stammer is a Professor of Physical Oceanography and Earth System Remote Sensing at Universität Hamburg, where he serves as the Director of the Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability. His work focuses on leveraging satellite altimetry and other space-based observations to study ocean circulation, climate variability, and data assimilation techniques.
Research Interests
Stammer's research explores the use of satellite altimetry for understanding ocean dynamics, mixing, and eddy transports. He specializes in quantitative testing of general ocean circulation models and their applications to climate studies. His expertise also extends to Earth system remote sensing and the integration of observational data with climate models.
Scientific Recognition
- Fellow of the American Geophysical Union
Publications & Leadership
With over 180 peer-reviewed articles, Stammer has significantly contributed to oceanography and climate science. He served as a lead author for the Fifth Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group I Assessment Report and has been actively involved in national and international scientific committees.
