Desiree Desierto is Assistant Professor of Economics at George Mason University. With dual PhDs in Economics (Nottingham) and Political Science (Wisconsin-Madison), her work analyzes historical and contemporary political economy, including Templeton Foundation-funded research on English institutional evolution.
Research Focus: Examines institutional persistence/change, corruption mechanisms, and resource allocation in historical contexts. Current projects study sumptuary laws, feudal economies, and religious reforms using game-theoretic frameworks.
