Desiree Binuya

Desiree Binuya is a Lecturer in Nursing at the School of Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of New England (UNE), Australia. She holds a Master of Nursing Practice from UNE (2021) and has over 15 years of combined clinical and academic experience across the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.

Her teaching focuses on key clinical nursing areas including:

• Emergency Nursing and Critical Care
• Medical-Surgical Nursing
• Cardiovascular Nursing
• Pediatric Nursing

Desiree's research interests align closely with her teaching, emphasizing clinical nursing education, student experience, and specialized care in emergency, cardiovascular, and pediatric settings. She is deeply committed to student success and impactful education.

She maintains active clinical practice as a part-time Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Armidale Hospital, ensuring her academic work remains grounded in current healthcare realities. Previously, she served as a Clinical Nurse Educator at King Khalid University Hospital in Saudi Arabia and as a Clinical and Academic Instructor at St. Paul University Philippines.
