Derrick Rice

Derrick Rice is a Military Science Instructor in the Army ROTC program at the University of Portland. A native of Junction City, Kansas, he enlisted in the Army in 2004 and has extensive combat and instructional experience, including deployments to Afghanistan and roles as a team leader, squad leader, and instructor.

• Military education includes SSD 1-3, Airborne School, Sling Load Inspector Course, Air Assault School, Cold Weather Leaders Course, and others

His decorations include multiple Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, and specialized badges recognizing combat proficiency and instructional excellence.
