Derrick C. Glass is a Professor of African American Studies at Wayne State University in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He also holds positions as an Associate Professor of Graduate Studies at Central Michigan University and Wayne State University, teaching Civil Rights Law, and serves as an Adjunct Professor teaching business law at Oakland Community College and Wayne County Community College.

Dr. Glass's research interests intersect African American Studies and legal frameworks, particularly focusing on civil rights law, public policy, and human relations. His work bridges historical and contemporary legal challenges within the African American experience.

Dr. Glass has extensive professional experience across academia and the judicial system. He previously served as a Referee with the Third Judicial Circuit Court, Juvenile Division, and held gubernatorial appointments as an appellate administrative law judge and public member of the Michigan Board of Optometry. His early work included clerkships at Detroit Recorder's Court and roles with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Judge Advocate General's Corps.
