Derek Wildman

Derek Wildman is a Professor in the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He leads the Computational Genomic Medicine research theme at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution.

Wildman's research focuses on applying comparative genomic approaches to study mammalian pregnancy and obstetrical syndromes. He also has expertise in other '-omic' sciences, such as transcriptomics and epigenomics, which are critical for understanding complex biological systems.
