Derek Pitman is an Associate Professor and Head of Department in the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology at Bournemouth University, UK. He teaches practical archaeology, geomatics, archaeological materials, and landscape archaeology. His research spans Greece and the UK, with a focus on digital documentation, geospatial analysis, and material culture studies.
