Derek J. Penslar is the William Lee Frost Professor of Jewish History at Harvard University. He serves as a resident faculty member at the Center for European Studies and as Director of Graduate Studies for the PhD track at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies. His research focuses on Jewish history within the contexts of modern capitalism, nationalism, and colonialism.
