Prof. Derek (Paddy) Farrell is a Professor in Trauma Psychology and Veterans Affairs at Northumbria University (Newcastle) and Queen's University Belfast. He is President of Trauma Aid Europe and President-Elect of EMDR All Ireland, with extensive humanitarian work in conflict zones globally. His research focuses on EMDR therapy, PTSD treatment, and moral injury in frontline workers. He holds an MBE (2020) and the Francine Shapiro Award (2024).
