Deokhyo Choi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at the University of Maryland. His research specializes in modern Korea, Japan, and US-East Asia relations, with a focus on empire, colonial memory, migration, and the Cold War. Previously, he served as a Lecturer in Korean Studies at the University of Sheffield (UK) and taught at the University of Cambridge, Korea University, and Yonsei University.
