Denyse Hayward is a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Education. Her research focuses on inclusive education, disability perceptions, and assessment protocols for vulnerable populations, particularly Deaf and hard-of-hearing students. She holds grants from SSHRC and Alberta Education, collaborating with institutions like MacEwan University and the Edmonton Public School Board. Courses taught include EDPY 301 (Inclusive Education) and EDU 595 (Special Topics in Educational Theory).
Her work addresses fatigue measurement for D/HH students, teacher perceptions of disabilities, and bridging theory-practice gaps in teacher education.
