Dennis Kratz

Dennis Kratz is the Ignacy and Celina Rockover Professor at the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology at The University of Texas at Dallas. As senior associate provost and director of the Center for Asian Studies, he has transformed liberal arts education through interdisciplinary programs bridging humanities with STEM fields.

His research focuses on medieval Latin literature, classical translation, and epic poetry. Kratz explores heroism across cultural traditions and the intersection of ancient narratives with modern genres like fantasy and science fiction.

Honors include the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Business Council of the Arts and the UT System Chancellor's Council Award for Outstanding Teaching. He has developed innovative academic programs including Arts and Technology (ATEC) and Emerging Media and Communication (EMAC).
