Dennis Knese

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dennis Knese holds the Professorship for Sustainable Mobility and Cycling at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences since 2021. This cross-disciplinary position spans the departments of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, and Business and Law. His work focuses on sustainable local mobility, traffic planning, road space design, and bicycle logistics.

Knese's research combines transport planning, logistics, urban design, social sciences, data science (AI), geoinformation, economics, and law. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 1, 3, 4, 9, 11, 13) addressing social equity, health promotion, education, innovation, sustainable cities, and climate resilience.

He leads the Research Lab for Urban Transport (ReLUT) and serves on the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport's Bicycle Advisory Board since 2022. His teaching emphasizes practical relevance through interdisciplinary methods and industry collaboration.
