Dennis Kinlaw is an Associate Professor of English at Erskine College and serves as the director of the Honors Institute at Erskine. He teaches courses on Modern and Postmodern literature.
He holds a B.A. from Harvard University, an M.Litt, and a Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews.
His research focuses on literature and religion, particularly narrative engagements with religious experience and secularism in 20th and 21st century literature. Key areas of interest include:

- Contemporary American Literature
- David Foster Wallace
His research has been supported by fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Saltire Foundation, and the Institute for Theology, Imagination, and the Arts in Scotland. He is currently working on a project funded by the Templeton Religion Trust, exploring the spiritual dimensions of literary reception.
Kinlaw has contributed to academic publications such as Transpositions and Church Life Journal, and previously served as book reviews editor for the Journal of Inkling Studies.
