Dr. Dennis Jansen is a Professor and Department Head of the Economics Department at Texas A&M University, where he also serves as the Jeff Montgomery Professor of Economics and Director of the Private Enterprise Research Center. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill and undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Saint Louis University. His teaching focuses on Macroeconomics, Monetary Economics, Financial Economics, and Econometrics. He has taught at institutions worldwide, including the National University of Ireland and Korea University. Dr. Jansen has advised nearly 50 doctoral students across academia, government, and private sectors.
His research spans macroeconomic policy, monetary policy impacts on asset prices, remittances' economic effects, jobless recoveries, and education economics. He has published over 70 articles in academic journals and presented globally. He has held visiting scholar roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and European universities. Awards include Texas A&M’s teaching excellence and mentoring recognitions.
Dr. Jansen has directed graduate and undergraduate programs at Texas A&M, edited Economic Inquiry, and secured grants from NSF, Texas agencies, and private foundations. He served as a Fulbright Scholar in Ireland. His consulting work includes economic damage quantification and firm valuations for leading firms like Charles River Associates.
