Dennis H. Li is an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, affiliated with the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Medical Social Sciences. He serves as core faculty in the Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science and directs the ACCELERATE research program at the Impact Institute. His work focuses on applying implementation science to enhance HIV prevention and treatment delivery for underserved communities.

Li's research spans three pillars: (1) developing digital HIV prevention programs for at-risk youth, (2) evaluating public health strategies to improve HIV care linkage, and (3) synthesizing generalizable implementation knowledge via the NIH-funded HIV Implementation Science Coordination Initiative. His work intersects health equity, team science, and translational research, with a focus on LGBTQ populations.
He is actively involved in professional leadership as co-chair of the Adolescent and Young Adult Health Committee (American Public Health Association) and as Membership Chair for the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality. He also serves as a Consulting Editor for the Journal of Sex Research (2024–present).
Li collaborates with institutions including the Institute for Public Health and Medicine (IPHAM), Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (NUCATS), and the Impact Institute. His research addresses health disparities, program evaluation, and internet-based interventions for infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS.
