معرفی
Dennis Goebel is an Associate Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology, Visual and Anatomical Sciences. His research focuses on retinal neuroanatomy, neuroprotection mechanisms, and therapeutic interventions for retinal and brain injuries linked to ischemic events.
- Ph.D. in Anatomy & Cell Biology (1991), Wayne State University
- Postdoctoral training at Sinai Hospital (Detroit) under Michael Bannon
Research Interests: Dr. Goebel's work bridges biochemical/molecular cell biology with retinal toxicity models. He investigates glutamate excitotoxicity pathways, mitochondrial membrane potential dynamics, and neuroprotective peptides targeting MAGUK proteins and TrkB/NMDA receptors.
Collaborations: Partnerships with Brown University, Dartmouth University, Chapman University, and University of Michigan advance his translational research in neurodegeneration and memory retention.
