Dennis Davy

Dennis Davy is an Associate Professor at EDHEC Business School's Management & Humanities school since 2010. With a career spanning over four decades since 1980, he has taught soft skills, humanities, and English across Germany, Japan, Algeria, Qatar, Oman, and France. At EDHEC, he teaches courses such as Brand Yourself on the Executive MBA and Governance, Culture and Society for the Global Business track in Nice.

His academic background includes degrees from University of Oxford (French & German Literature), Lancaster University (Language Teaching Pedagogy), and University of Cambridge (English & Applied Linguistics). He speaks English, French, and German fluently, with working knowledge of Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic.

Dennis focuses on business communication, discourse analysis, and lexicology, particularly in professional contexts. His research explores linguistic innovation in business settings, including neologisms in Business French and word-formational processes in English and French. He has published extensively on entrepreneurial pitching and linguistic boundary-crossing in business education.

Recent publications examine ethical challenges in digital business communication, error gravity in French entrepreneurial pitches, and hybrid lexical usage in corporate French. His work bridges theoretical linguistics with practical applications for business professionals.

Previously, he served as Head of the Languages Department at MIP School of Management and as a Lecturer at École Polytechnique in Paris. He also coordinated EDHEC's Concours Langues entrance examinations for three years.
