Dr. Dennis Bruining is a Lecturer in Digital and Social Media at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from Macquarie University and has additional degrees in Media, TESOL, and Law. His research explores digital media’s sociocultural impacts, focusing on somatechnics, AI, decentralized technologies, and transcultural communication. He actively publishes in journals like Somatechnics and Cultural Studies Review, analyzing intersections of embodiment, technology, and global cultural dynamics. Bruining has served as NSW Representative for the Cultural Studies Association of Australasia and teaches courses such as Digital Media Industries. His work addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 9 (Industry/Innovation), and 16 (Peace/Justice).
