Dennis A. Frey Jr.

Dennis A. Frey Jr., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of History at Lasell University's School of Humanities, Education, Justice & Social Sciences. He currently serves as the Dean of Curricular Integration and Director of the Rosemary B Fuss Teaching and Learning Center, leading college-wide general education reforms.

• Education: Ph.D. in Early Modern European History (1998), M.A. in European History (1993) from Syracuse University, B.S. in Social History (1991) from Carnegie Mellon University

Research Specialization focuses on socio-economic and cultural history of artisans (Handwerker) in Göppingen, Germany during the 18th-19th centuries, using Pierre Bourdieu's theoretical framework to analyze structure-agency dynamics. Recent work expands into animal history within urban contexts.

His publications appear in journals like International Review of Social History, and edited volumes such as Money in the German-speaking Lands (2017). Three essays are forthcoming in Bloomsbury and Wochenschau-Vergla publications.
