Prof. Deniz Başkent is a Professor at the University of Groningen (RUG) and affiliated with the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). He leads the dB SPL Lab, focusing on human perception, particularly in hearing and speech, with specialties in cochlear implants and hearing impairment. His work extends to voice perception, vocal emotion, music training, and robotics, employing experimental methods like eye tracking. The lab collaborates across disciplines, including the W.J. Kolff Institute for Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science.
Key affiliations include the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, School of Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience (BCN), and UMCG.
