Denise Polverine is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of English at Case Western Reserve University. She currently serves as Vice President and Publisher at Cleveland Magazine, overseeing brand strategy, audience engagement, and editorial direction. Previously, she held leadership roles at WKYC TV 3 (Director of Digital Strategy and News) and cleveland.com (Editor-in-Chief and Director of Digital Operations). Her career focuses on digital innovation in media, diversity initiatives, and cross-platform content development.
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Cleveland State University.
Research interests emphasize modern media leadership, digital transformation in journalism, and inclusive storytelling practices. She has received national recognition for her work, including Emmy Awards and the Cleveland Press Club's Digital Pioneer honor.
Professional service includes board memberships with United Way of Greater Cleveland, The Gathering Place, Cleveland Arts Prize, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio. She is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland (2008) and Cleveland Bridge Builders (2006).
