Professor Denise Morrey is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Research Lead at the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, Oxford Brookes University. She serves as Group Lead for the High Voltage and Energy Storage Laboratory and is a member of the Engine Modelling Team. Her work focuses on sustainable transport solutions and energy storage systems.
- Established the Motorsport Engineering Centre with £2.1M SEEDA funding
- Recipient of 12 annual Fernando Alonso scholarships (2007-2011)
Research Interests: Driving development of High Voltage and Energy Storage Laboratory (HVES), vehicle dynamics, sustainable transport, engine modeling, and battery technology. Her studies address second-life battery applications, pollutant dispersion, and particulate matter emissions.
Publications: 15 most recent articles span lithium-ion battery performance, energy storage optimization, computational fluid dynamics for emission studies, and automotive engineering. Key themes include sustainable transport, battery modeling, and emission control technologies.

Supervision: Currently supervises 8 PhD students (Director of Studies) and 4 post-doctoral RAs. Examined over 25 PhD theses (external/internal).
Labs & Teams: Leads the High Voltage and Energy Storage Laboratory and participates in the Engine Modelling Team. Active in the Future of Transport Centre and Propulsion and Pollution Modelling group.
