Denise Morgan is the Goodnight Distinguished Professor of Early Literacy at Western Carolina University (WCU), appointed in January 2024. She transitioned from Kent State University, where she spent nearly 20 years as a professor of literacy education. Her role at WCU focuses on enhancing teacher preparation in literacy through curriculum development and supporting educators. She also advises the UNC System’s literacy initiatives and collaborates with a state network of endowed professors.
