Denise Mifsud is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Education at the University of Bath, specializing in critical leadership theories, educational policy analysis, and distributed leadership. She holds adjunct roles at the University of Limerick and serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of International Studies in Sociology of Education. Her research employs Foucauldian and Actor-Network theories to explore power dynamics, governance, and social justice in education. Mifsud has over 20 years of experience in education leadership, including roles in the Maltese Ministry of Education and academic positions at the University of the West of Scotland and University of Malta.

Awards include the Scottish Educational Research Association’s Estelle Brisard Memorial Prize (2015) and recognition for her scholarship in leadership studies. Mifsud’s work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in advancing quality education (SDG 4).
She currently directs the EdD thesis program and CPD initiatives at Bath, fostering academic writing through retreats. Her teaching spans leadership, governance, and research methodologies.
