Denise Forgeron is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biology at Cape Breton University (CBU), affiliated with the School of Science and Technology. She specializes in laboratory instruction for courses including Introductory Biology, Vertebrate Zoology, Genetics, and Human Anatomy and Physiology. Her roles include advising the Biology Awards Committee, which administers the Wendy MacKenzie Biology Prize, and representing CBU for the United Way of Cape Breton.
Education: B.Sc. (Saint Francis Xavier University), B.Ed. (Science) (Saint Mary’s University), BA (Psychology) (University of Cape Breton), and M.Ed. (Memorial University of Newfoundland).
Denise is passionate about Biology education and is a member of ABLE (Association of Biology Laboratory Educators). Her teaching focuses on fostering student engagement in cellular biology, organismal biology, and physiological systems. She emphasizes hands-on learning to strengthen foundational concepts in life sciences.
As Chair of the Biology Awards Committee, she champions scholarships recognizing academic excellence in Biology. Her contributions extend to community involvement through United Way initiatives.
