Denise Anderson is an Assistant Professor at the Robert Busch School of Design, Michael Graves College, Kean University, where she has taught since 2013. She previously served as an adjunct instructor in the department for fifteen years. Denise holds a BFA in Visual Communications from Kean University and an MPS in Design Management from Pratt Institute, blending business and design methodologies.

Her research focuses on graphic design, brand identity, and design entrepreneurship. She authored the book Stand Out: Design a Personal Brand, Build a Killer Portfolio, and Find a Great Design Job (2016), emphasizing practical career strategies for design students.
Denise’s recent articles explore the intersection of design, technology, and education, including post-pandemic architectural visions, digital networking tools for students, and hybrid design methodologies. Her work emphasizes bridging academic training with real-world industry practices.
As founder of the award-winning firm DesignDMA, she has over two decades of professional experience in branding strategies for global firms and startups. Denise chaired the 2016 Design Education Summit (UCDA) and created the 2014 Designsters portfolio program, fostering student-industry connections. She served as ADCNJ President (1998–2000) and remains active on the board.
