استادیار · Human Metabolic Pathway Regulation
University of California, Berkeleyمعرفی
Denis Titov is an Assistant Professor (Affiliated) in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, with affiliations in Nutritional Sciences & Toxicology and the Center for Computational Biology at UC Berkeley. His research focuses on quantitative understanding of human metabolism and the molecular basis of aging. He leads the Titov Lab, which combines computational modeling with experimental approaches to study metabolic homeostasis and lifespan regulation in C. elegans.
Education & Affiliations:
- Department of Molecular and Cell Biology
- Nutritional Sciences & Toxicology
- Center for Computational Biology
Research Interests:
- Metabolic Regulation: Investigates how enzyme regulation maintains ATP homeostasis and biosynthesis balance, with implications for metabolic diseases like diabetes and NAFLD.
- Aging Mechanisms: Uses C. elegans to study caloric restriction's impact on lifespan, leveraging automated lifespan imaging systems.
- Genetic Tools: Develops genetically encoded tools (e.g., LbNOX, TPNOX) to manipulate NAD+/NADH ratios and mitochondrial membrane potential in vivo.
Key Projects:
- Deciphering metabolic trade-offs in glycolysis vs. respiration (Warburg Effect).
- Uncovering lifespan extension mechanisms via caloric restriction and CR mimetics.
- Advancing in vivo metabolic imaging with SRS microscopy.
Lab & Collaborations: The Titov Lab is located in 142 Weill Hall and collaborates across disciplines to bridge computational and experimental biology. Open positions are available for postdocs, PhD students, and undergraduates.
