معرفی
Denis R. Candido serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Iowa, conducting cutting-edge research at the intersection of quantum information science and condensed matter physics. His work focuses on developing hybrid quantum systems for quantum computing applications and advancing quantum device capabilities through topological and non-Hermitian physics frameworks.
Education:
- PhD in Physics, University of São Paulo
Research Interests: Prof. Candido specializes in hybrid quantum systems for qubit entanglement and quantum information processing, integrating topological principles and non-Hermitian dynamics to enhance quantum device performance. His expertise spans spin-defect centers as solid-state qubits and quantum sensors, spintronics, topological materials (including insulators and semimetals), and condensed matter transport phenomena. Current investigations examine realistic implementations of quantum computers using condensed matter platforms and non-invasive quantum sensing of physical phenomena.
Mentoring: He actively participates in the APS National Mentoring Community, providing guidance to undergraduate physics students. His research group involves students in developing quantum device proposals and analyzing topological/non-Hermitian approaches to quantum computing advancement.
Laboratory Affiliation: Prof. Candido conducts research at the Iowa Advanced Technology Laboratories (IATL) as part of the Condensed Matter and Materials Physics research group within the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
