Dena Breece

Dena Breece is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Technology Management at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP). She joined UNCP in 2018 as an adjunct in the School of Business MBA program and became an assistant accounting professor in 2020. With over twenty years of industry experience, she previously served as Assistant State Auditor, Finance Manager, and held academic leadership roles at Methodist University, including department chair and acting dean.

• Education: Ph.D. in Business Administration (Trident University International, 2017), MBA (Campbell University, 2002), BS in Accounting (Methodist University, 2000)

Her research focuses on managerial accounting, information technology, fraud examination, and pedagogical innovations. She emphasizes experiential learning and service-learning in courses like auditing and forensic accounting. Recent publications explore entrepreneurial education, project management tools, and firm growth dynamics.

Dr. Breece has received multiple scientific awards, including:
