Demissew Diro Ejara is an Associate Professor at the University of New Haven within the Accounting, Finance & Marketing Department of the Pompea College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Connecticut, an MBA from the University of Texas-Pan American, and a B.A. in Accounting from Addis Ababa University.
His research focuses on corporate finance, international finance, securities issuance, and international financial markets. His work includes studies on ADR IPOs, market integration, exchange rates, and mutual fund performance. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Corporate Finance, Applied Financial Economics, and Journal of Banking & Finance.
His publications span ADR IPOs, European equity markets, emerging markets, and market integration, with recurring themes in corporate governance, financial risk assessment, and investment strategies. He has served as a discussant and reviewer for numerous conferences and journals, including the Financial Management Association and American Journal of Economics and Business Administration.
Demissew Ejara is the Director of the Samuel S. Bergami, Jr. Learning Center for Finance and Technology. He teaches courses such as International Financial Management and Capital Market Theory, integrating his research into curricula. His students have outperformed general market indices in the Charger Portfolio program.
