Assoc. Prof. Demir Ozdemir is a leading academic in Agricultural Biotechnology at Akdeniz University's Faculty of Agriculture since 2021. His expertise spans Molecular Genetics, Animal Biotechnology, and Genetic Conservation, with a focus on native poultry breeds and stress response mechanisms. He has published extensively in SCI journals including Poultry Science and Italian Journal of Animal Science.

His research on Turkish native chicken breeds (Denizli, Sultan, Gerze) combines mtDNA analysis, SNP genotyping, and phylogenetic studies.
