Demetra Demetriou

Dr. Demetra Demetriou is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance at Neapolis University, teaching courses such as business finance, corporate governance, and financial accounting. She holds a PhD from Heriot-Watt University, alongside a Master’s in Banking and Financial Studies and a Bachelor’s in Banking and Financial Management from the University of Piraeus. Her research focuses on corporate sustainability, governance, banking, environmental accounting, and ESG disclosure impacts. She contributed to the EEA and Norway Grants Fund’s educational materials on taxation, banking, and risk management, and co-authored books like Financial Analysis and Applications and Structure and Regulation of Capital Markets. Her recent research explores ESG metrics convergence, non-performing loan resolution frameworks, and the 2013 Cypriot banking crisis. She also engages in pedagogical training, emphasizing active learning and digital transformation in education.
