Delvac Oceandy

Delvac Oceandy is a Professor of Molecular Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences (L5). He holds an adjunct professorship at Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of cardiac regeneration, Hippo signaling pathways, and calcium signaling in cardiovascular diseases. He has led multiple grants from the British Heart Foundation (BHF), Medical Research Council (MRC), and Heart Research UK, totaling over £2.5 million in funding since 2010.

Dr. Oceandy's teaching portfolio includes undergraduate medical (MBChB) and biomedical sciences (BSc) programs, as well as postgraduate MSc programs in Cardiovascular Health and Tissue Engineering. He supervises PhD students and serves on editorial boards for journals like Nature Scientific Reports. His laboratory employs advanced techniques in molecular biology, cell biology, and translational medicine to address heart failure and regeneration challenges.

Key achievements include the 2006 ESC Young Investigator Award and 2010 BHF Intermediate Fellowship. Current research projects target Hippo pathway modulation, PMCA4 inhibition in myocardial infarction, and microRNA-based therapies for cardiac dysfunction. He collaborates widely, with recent work on mobile health interventions in rural Indonesia to reduce cardiovascular mortality.
