Dejana Mokranjac

Dr. Dejana Mokranjac is a Researcher at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, affiliated with the Faculty of Biology. Her work centers on mitochondrial biogenesis, particularly the import of nuclear-encoded proteins into mitochondria via the presequence pathway, utilizing the TOM and TIM23 complexes. She employs interdisciplinary approaches combining biochemistry, cell biology, yeast genetics, and structural biology to address fundamental questions about mitochondrial protein translocation and its integration into cellular physiology.
