Dr. Deirdre Voldseth is a Professor in the Department of Entomology at North Dakota State University's College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources. Her research program focuses on integrated pest management strategies, rhizosphere-level insect-plant interactions, and cultural entomology. She teaches courses including General Entomology, Overview of Entomology, and Principles of Insect Pest Management.
Research interests center on:
- Developing sustainable pest control methods that combine biological, cultural, and chemical tactics
- Investigating soil-plant-insect-microbe interactions in agricultural systems
- Documenting historical and cultural representations of insects in human societies
