Dr. Dee Gillespie is a Professor in the Department of History, Anthropology, and Philosophy at the University of North Georgia. With a Ph.D. in History from SUNY Binghamton (2008), she teaches courses on U.S. history, civil rights, and women's history, including

She also explores post-WWII southern economic development and the Sunbelt's environmental legacy.
Her publications highlight regional case studies in social transformation, spanning topics from Gainesville's mineral springs tourism to the CEP's impact on Black women's political culture. Awards include two prestigious honors from the Southern Association of Women's Historians.
