Declan Mckeefry is a Professor of Visual Neuroscience at the School of Optometry & Vision Science within the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Bradford. He can be contacted via email at D.Mckeefry@bradford.ac.uk or by phone at +441274234648.
Professor Mckeefry's primary research focuses on colour perception, with additional interests in motion and speed perception, as well as the mechanisms of visual short term memory. His work employs diverse methodologies including psychophysics, electrophysiology (EEG and ERG), brain imaging, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
His research has received significant funding from prestigious organizations including the Wellcome Trust, the Royal Society, the College of Optometrists, and the BBSRC.
Professor Mckeefry currently supervises PhD students Naveen Challa and Vanda Nemes, demonstrating his active role in mentoring the next generation of vision scientists.
He maintains extensive collaborative relationships with researchers across multiple institutions, including Prof A Morland at the York Neuroimaging Centre (University of York), Drs I. Murray and N. Parry at the Faculty of Life Sciences (University of Manchester), and Prof J. Kremers at the Department of Ophthalmology (University of Erlangen-Nuremburg, Germany).
Additionally, Professor Mckeefry serves on the steering committee of the Yorkshire Vision Network, highlighting his leadership and commitment to advancing vision research in the region.
