Dr. Dechen Lham is a Research Fellow at Eawag's Department of Environmental Social Sciences, focusing on the role of science in shaping biodiversity policies and promoting multilateral conservation approaches. She holds a PhD in Ecology from the University of Zurich (2022) and has extensive experience in conservation biology, including snow leopard conservation in Bhutan. Her academic career includes roles as a Senior Biodiversity Officer in Bhutan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forest (2014–2017) and as a UNDP-UNEP intern (2012). She is a founding member of Project FELIS and serves on the Steering Committee of the Snow Leopard Network. Her research interests span biodiversity policy, protected area effectiveness, and ecological modeling.
