Dechang Chen

Dr. Dechang Chen is a Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics at the Uniformed Services University (USU), School of Medicine. He specializes in machine learning applications in medicine, applied statistics, and partial differential equations. He teaches core courses including Biostatistics II and An Introduction to Machine Learning.

Education:

• B.S. in Mathematics, Southeast University

Research focuses on machine learning in bioinformatics and medicine, survival analysis methodologies, and PDEs. He has secured grants from NSF and Department of Defense (DoD). His recent work includes advancing clinical staging systems via ML and developing statistical methods for survival data analysis.
