Debraj Chakrabarti is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Central Michigan University (CMU), within the College of Science and Engineering. His research focuses on Several Complex Variables, studying holomorphic functions in higher-dimensional complex manifolds and using Cauchy-Riemann equations. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Chakrabarti organizes the CMU Graduate Student Mathematics Seminar and co-organizes the Geometry (TAG) Seminar. He supervises the CMU Math Department's Problem of the Week. His teaching spans courses like Calculus, Complex Analysis, and Differential Equations, with recent roles in MTH 636, MTH 637, and MTH 233.
His research explores Bergman projections, ∂̄-problems, and geometric analysis in complex spaces. Collaborations include work on monomial polyhedra, Reinhardt domains, and curvature computations. He has mentored over a dozen students, contributing to publications in journals like Advances in Mathematics and Mathematische Annalen.
