Debra Strickland is a Professor of Medieval Art History at the University of Glasgow's Department of History of Art. Her research focuses on medieval and northern Renaissance art, particularly illuminated manuscripts, early printed books, monsters, bestiaries, and the works of Hieronymus Bosch. She explores non-human and non-Christian presence in medieval visual cultures, with methodological interests in monster theory and text-image analysis.
