Deborah Tangunan

Dr. Deborah Tangunan is a Research Fellow in Micropalaeontology at University College London (UCL), affiliated with the Palaeontology Research Group and The London Geochemistry and Isotope Centre. Her research bridges paleoceanography, biogeochemistry, and climate science through the study of marine microfossils.

She specializes in reconstructing historical climate dynamics using multidisciplinary methods including:

• Morphometric analysis (SYRACO/C-Calcita) of coccolithophores/nannofossils
• Geochemical measurements of trace elements/isotopes in carbonates
• Proxy-model integration with CMIP/PlioMIP datasets

Her NERC-funded ChaSE project examines Cretaceous marine ecosystem resilience to climate change through integrated fossil, geochemical, and museum collection analyses.

Dr. Tangunan actively communicates science via Twitter (@dntangunan, @TickTockIGT) and maintains collaborative research in paleoclimate reconstruction techniques.
