Deborah Moncrieff, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Memphis, where she joined in 2018. Her academic journey includes a BA in English Literature from the University of Rochester, followed by an MS in Audiology and a PhD in Cognition and Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to her current role, she held tenure-track and clinical faculty positions at the Universities of Florida, Connecticut, and Pittsburgh.
Her research focuses on auditory processing disorders in children across diverse populations, employing behavioral techniques, multi-channel electrophysiologic methods, and functional brain imaging to understand neurophysiologic mechanisms. Funding for her work has been secured from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Lions Hearing Research Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Education.
