Southern Connecticut State Universityمعرفی
Jennifer McCullagh is a Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Communication Disorders at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). She holds dual doctorates: a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences with a neuroscience concentration and an Au.D. in Audiology from the University of Connecticut (2009). Her academic career at SCSU began in 2009, combining clinical work, teaching, and research. She became Department Chair in 2019.
- Teaching Interests: Diagnostic Audiology, Neurological Bases of Communication Disorders, Central Auditory Processing Disorders, Research Methods
Research Focus: McCullagh specializes in auditory electrophysiology and central auditory processing disorders, with a focus on neurological injuries, age-related changes, and interdisciplinary approaches. Her work explores auditory processing in noisy environments, dichotic listening, and auditory memory.
Scientific Contributions: Key publications include studies on dichotic listening training efficacy, auditory cortical responses in noise, and P300 paradigms. Her research often intersects with neuroscience, rehabilitation, and pediatric audiology.
- Grants: Multiple funded projects at SCSU (2012–2019) totaling over $26,000, including studies on auditory processing in neurological impairments, phonological processing, and hearing-in-noise assessments.
- Presentations: Regular speaker at ASHA, American Academy of Audiology, and International Neuropsychological Society conferences, with recent work on auditory training in aphasia and interdisciplinary assessments.
