Associate Professor Deborah Heck is Dean of the School of Education and Tertiary Access at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Since 2010, she has championed social justice and equity in education, focusing on pathways from enabling programs to PhD studies. Her work bridges academic and professional faculties, students, and communities to reimagine education as a space for curiosity and societal transformation.

- Dialogic teaching and cogenitive inquiry
- Decolonial methodologies in education
Recent Publications analyze OECD educational frameworks through a 'negative universality' lens, critique myths of teacher quality, and explore decoloniality in teacher education.
