Deborah Fallon is a Senior Lecturer and Field Lead for Children and Young People's Nursing at the University of Manchester's Division of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work. She holds roles as University Link Lecturer at Manchester Foundation Trust and chairs the national CYPNAUK network. Her expertise spans qualitative research on vulnerable youth, particularly in sexual health access, young carers, and marginalized groups.
Qualifications include a PhD in Sociology (Goldsmiths, University of London), MA in Women's Studies/Sociology (Lancaster University), and BSc in Nursing/Education (Huddersfield University). She is a Registered Nurse with dual specialization in adult and pediatric care.
Research focuses on participatory methodologies addressing health inequalities, including projects on emergency contraception, teenage parents, and neglected children. Between 2005-2011, she secured £82k (PI) and £282k (CoI) in grants through CYP@Salford. Teaching spans undergraduate to PhD levels in nursing and sociology.
